Details
The Koenders Double Diaphragm Windmill Aeration System is our most powerful wind-driven aerator, built for larger ponds and sites that need more air or more than one aeration point. Its double diaphragm compressor feeds two airstones through a two-way valve, delivering bottom-up aeration that circulates the whole pond, prevents stratification and stagnant water, and helps stop turnover and winter fish kills, with no electricity and no chemicals.
The double diaphragm system suits larger or deeper ponds and lets you aerate two locations at once for better coverage.
Features and benefits
- Wind powered, with no electricity or ongoing energy costs
- Double diaphragm compressor for larger ponds and higher air volume
- Runs two airstones through a two-way valve for wider coverage
- Bottom-up aeration that circulates the full water column
- Helps prevent stagnant water, pond turnover and fish kills
- Galvanized tower and components built for harsh outdoor conditions
- Backed by a full 1 year warranty
What is included
Every Double Diaphragm system includes the windmill head with a 26 inch blade and tail box, a double diaphragm air compressor, two airstone diffusers, two foot valves, a two-way selector valve, and 200 feet of 3/8 inch polytubing airline. Taller towers add stacking tower box sections:
- 12 ft: 8 ft and 12 ft tower boxes
- 16 ft: 8, 12 and 16 ft tower boxes
- 20 ft: 8, 12, 16 and 20 ft tower boxes
- 24 ft: 8, 12, 16, 20 and 24 ft tower boxes
Choosing your tower height
Taller towers reach cleaner, steadier wind, so choose based on your site. Open, exposed sites can use a shorter tower, while sites with trees, buildings or rolling terrain benefit from a taller tower to clear the turbulence. If you are unsure, contact our team and we will help you size the right system.

Compare
Two aeration points versus one
A single aeration point can leave a larger pond short on air. Here is how the double diaphragm system compares.
Common approach
One airstone or grid power
- A single aeration point covers less of a larger pond than two
- Grid-powered systems add ongoing energy costs
- Chemical treatments mask stagnant water instead of circulating it
This system
Double diaphragm, two airstones
- Feeds two airstones through a two-way valve for wider coverage
- Runs on wind alone, with no electricity or ongoing energy costs
- Bottom-up aeration circulates the full water column, no chemicals
Why it works
More air, more coverage, no power bill
Built for larger ponds and sites that need more air or more than one aeration point.
Wind powered
Runs on wind alone, with no electricity and no ongoing energy costs, so you can aerate remote ponds far from a power source.
Double diaphragm compressor
Delivers higher air volume for larger and deeper ponds, feeding two airstones for stronger circulation.
Two aeration points
A two-way selector valve runs two airstones at once, letting you aerate two locations for better coverage across the pond.
Bottom-up circulation
Circulates the full water column to prevent stratification, stagnant water, pond turnover and winter fish kills.
Built for the outdoors
Galvanized tower and components stand up to harsh outdoor conditions season after season.
Chemical free
Improves water quality through aeration and circulation, with no chemicals added to your pond.
