A natural alternative to harsh drain chemicals

Chemical drain openers use lye or acid to force a clog open. 4-in-One takes a biological approach, cleaning your plumbing and supporting your septic system along the way.

Common approach

Harsh chemical drain cleaners

  • Rely on harsh chemicals to force a clog open
  • Do little for the septic system downstream
  • Can be hard on older pipes

Questions and answers

4-in-One septic and drain treatment FAQ

How 4-in-One works, how much to use, and where you can use it.

What does Nature's Pond 4-in-One do?
It is an ultra-concentrated blend of beneficial bacteria and enzymes that cleans and maintains drains, plumbing and septic systems. It metabolizes the fats, oils and grease that clog pipes and helps reduce odours. Once it reaches the septic tank, it breaks down organic solids and sludge and reduces excess nutrients in the liquid effluent.
How much 4-in-One should I use, and how often?
Follow the application chart on the label. For household toilets, sinks and drains, add 1 L every 8 weeks. For dishwashers and washing machines, add 0.25 L every 8 weeks. For restaurant and cafeteria sinks and drains, add 0.125 L each day.
Is 4-in-One safe for my septic system?
Yes. It is made for septic systems and is safe for all drains. It contains no corrosive, explosive or flammable acids, and it is safe for people, pets, livestock, fish, birds and wildlife when used as directed.
Do I still need to have my septic tank pumped?
Yes. Keep up regular inspection and pumping as recommended for your system. 4-in-One is a maintenance treatment that helps break down organic waste between service visits. It does not replace pumping.
Can I use it in an outhouse, portable toilet or RV?
Yes. For outhouse toilets that are not connected to a septic system, mix 0.25 L into 10 L of water every 3 weeks. For portable outdoor toilets, add 1 L after each cleaning. For recreational vehicles, add 0.25 L after each cleaning.
Will it help with slow drains and drain odours?
It helps reduce clogs and unpleasant odours by breaking down the fats, oils, grease and organic matter that build up in drains and pipes. It works biologically over time, so it is a maintenance treatment rather than a harsh chemical drain opener.
Can it be used on farms or in sewage lagoons?
Yes. For farms, manure pits and sewage lagoons, the label rate is 4 L diluted 1:10 in water every 4 weeks. The 60-gallon size suits larger applications like these.
What sizes are available, and how should I store it?
Choose from 1 quart (946 mL), 1 gallon (3.78 L), 2.5 gallons (9.46 L) or 60 gallons. Store it tightly closed in a cool, dry, well-ventilated place at room temperature, avoid freezing, and keep it out of reach of children. It has a long shelf life.
How should I handle it safely?
Avoid contact with your eyes and skin, and wear gloves and eye protection when pouring. If it gets in your eyes, rinse with plenty of water and get medical attention if irritation persists. Follow the label and safety data sheet.
